6 months later David was here for the routine system check. Again a very pleasant person, very efficient check of the system, taking time to explain to me what he was doing and why, one part needed replacing. Over all very satisfied with Mid-Florida...

Only one bugaboo... calling on the phone means you might get a robot... It was frustrating trying to communicate with him. It took me several minutes to realize it was a robot.. duh... I was promised by the robot I would receive a callback concerning billing... but no one ever called back. I called several times over a two day period and the robot promised call back each time... Never any call back.. No way to get a live operator. No call backs... Makes ya wonder..... Ah the age of AI.... Hope they either get rid of the robot or get it up and running.

TL;DR very rough start but phenomenal finish. 2 part review.
I’ve been using mid Florida for HVAC maintenance for 5 years now. The home I’m in had a unit installed over 15 years ago, and the handler which sits in the garage, has been giving me grief for the last 3 years. For reference, the air handler sat on a “make shift” shelf stand. This wood shelf sits 3 feet off the ground and the weight of the handler eventually started to cause issues with the drainage lines and overflow components of the handler. The water would back up, trip the switch and need to be drained and cleaned every 6 months or so.
Eventually, this turned into every 4 months. At my request, mid Florida would provide maintenance on this dying unit as an attempt to extend its life. But I was made fully aware that I would eventually have to have the unit changed out and the shelf/area completely torn out so that they could properly level the handler on to the concrete slab.
Well, that day had to come eventually. 4 days ago the trip switch stopped working and the overflow from the unit was, as Dustin put it, “a flowing river.” Water spilled everywhere. Into the house, the garage and all over the duct board underneath. He took video evidence of everything. As someone who enjoys seeing proof, I appreciate this. But it also sucked to see it was happening to me this time lol. The wood was completely rotten out and there was “organic growth,” which is not something you want to hear regarding your AC unit. The time had come where maintenance work could no longer be done.
So here is where the fun starts. I was unaware that HVAC has the equivalent of sales people. But i recognize the start of a sales pitch when I hear one. I was asked “how much do you think it would cost to replace all this?” At first glance, this could be considered a simple curiosity, but having worked within the sales realm for 20 years, I know the start of a pitch. To be certain, I played the part of “uninformed customer” and gave my honest answer. I said “around 15k or so.” To which the tech responded by saying he needed to talk to his boss for a few minutes. If you don’t know this, the number I gave would give them an impression or indicate where I would be comfortable to spend my money. Or “how much” I could potentially afford.
After some time, and I assume, some strategy talk with the manager, I was given a quote of 18,400.00 to replace everything. Knowing this was coming, I had reached out to people i know who had work done and had references ready to show how much others have paid for similar work to what I needed. My parents recently had their entire system changed out just like I needed, and the cost for everything was about 10k.
I showed Dustin the itemized receipt, which was cross referenced with a friend of mine who also had work done recently. To Dustin’s credit here, he realized what it looked like and began to explain everything clearly. He was suggesting a deluxe package which included a ton of bells and whistles.
Ok, so you may think a certain negative way about this. I do not. I respect the hustle as a salesman and I understand where he was coming from here. Dustin and the manager on the phone cross reference the itemized receipts I provided and matched everything where they could. They did this in front of me instead of away from me, and I appreciate the transparency there. They even offered me extra line items such as extension of follow up maintenance, warranty, and a UV light.
We agreed on a price for everything I needed to be done. Grand total of $11,400.00. Since financing is available, I took it. Making my monthly payments about &155.00 for 8 years at an unfortunate interest rate of 11.9%. There is no way to negotiate with the financial officer, even though my credit score is 770 or so.

Dustin was tired when he arrived at the end of the day (9 pm), but he carefully diagnosed the problem with the defrost board and then bypassed the faulty circuit until the new board could arrive. He restored AC service before he left. First rate service from a skilled professional.

I have to say... WTH happened to real communication??? At least with an answering service, they could covey your dire of emergency! My father is recently widowed; 5 months ago, a veteran of 33 years and a senior citizen, amongst other health conditions.
They sent a technician out yesterday, 7/17/2025 who apparently they just hired that has no knowledge of making repairs. NO OFFENSE TO HIM BY ANY MAEANS! Definitely not his fault. In actuality, he was very professional and informed my father he did not know how to make the repair.
Another SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WAS MADE theough the company where a tike was arranged for an experienced tech to evaluate and diagnose the issue with the A/C unit. An appointment was made that same day the inexperienced tech was there for the following day, Friday, January 18. No worries, NORMAL BUSINESS hours for he would wait around in the FL HUMIDITY AND HEAT and they were a " NO SHOW"! My father called, asking for an update. Can you believe they informed him the technician was more than a 2 hour drive away??? After there was a no show at the given time given, he's resorted for finding windows A/C units from acquaintances afar. Remember, he's a widowed, senior citizen veteran. I'm calling him at this time to obtain a SITREP from him. My apologies, I'm at veteran as well, USMC. I'm being told they were a no show and he's attempted to make contact with them and only able to contact their answering service. After the brief conversation and update, I informed him I would place a call into them.
Oh... I call and immediately realize on the other end of the phone is "AI"!!!! I made many attempts trying to bring my point across how important it was my father was taken care of in this matter, regardless, everything was an automated response. I informed the "AI" i was notifying "BBB" & the attorney general's office about filing a complaint in their negligence and disregard to a veteran, widowed senior citizen on a VERY fixed income, now! No feelings whatsoever and i was told they would deliver the message.
Two plus hous later, I haven't received a message, email, or phone call back from them. That also includes my father not hearing back from them.
In light, I would HIGHLY suggest anyone and everyone to steer away from this company for they could CARE LESS about CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND APPRECIATION!
PROVE US WRONG, I'd be happy to make a REVISION to this evaluation!

Had a technician come out to do a simple maintenance on my bosh system and was unsure about the quality of work when our system went from 76 before maintenance to a humid sticky 84 after he left. After a quick call they sent out Logan and Andrew to assess the issue, they were diligent and knowledgeable while also highly skilled and determined to get to the bottom of it , long story short who knew that a factory reset on the thermostat should not be reset by untrained people such as myself, totally my fault . Thank you guys !!! Customer service was exceptional by these fellas and looking forward to having these guys doing my service for years to come. People you can trust.

David Holder was exceptional today with the maintenance of our 2.5 year old Goodman AC. He checked and cleaned the system and advised us of an out of spec reading that will be addressed at a future visit (needs a part to be ordered). Very pleased with his professionalism and knowledge.

Problems with A/C. Called Mid-Fla and they responded quickly. We’ve been using Mid-Fla 23 years. Mari White arrived and immediately knew by the sound the likely problem. After a thorough check of the system, he gave me a full and understandable diagnosis.

Update: The following day, Wesley Hart (Sales) scheduled an appt with us to discuss options of replacing the compressor or purchasing all new equipment. We decided to go with all new. Zero % financing a super big plus. The following day, Bobbie Reburn and Matthew Still arrived to remove the old and install the new. Complications arose but Robbie worked diligently to resolve all the issues. New unit worked great until 2 days ago. Called Mid-Fla and within 6 hrs, Shane Nase arrived and discovered problems with voltage regulator, and soon had the unit working again. Great response from everyone, and super great workmanship and knowledge from everyone!!!
